Set of two spring bars for Rolex Explorer II reference 16570 with drilled lugs, in hardened Swiss Standard steel. Size: 20mm between lugs. Pin diameter: 2.0mm. For the 16570 production with through-hole, from 1989 to 2003 — before the transition to the closed case of the later years.
The 16570 is the Explorer II that divides collectors. Modern case, but drilled lugs on the first fifteen years of production. 2.0mm pin is mandatory: against an open hole, a smaller diameter won’t hold. Removal also becomes simpler — a pin punch from below and the strap comes out, no forked tool needed on the slot.
I fit these on the drilled 16570 that come through the atelier. For post-2003 versions without the hole, the modern 1.5mm pin is required.

How can I tell if my 16570 has drilled lugs?
Look at the side of the lug, below the dial. If you can see the through-hole, it's yours. Drilled lugs were made from 1989 to 2003, before the switch to solid lugs.
Does the pin diameter really matter?
Yes, a lot. These spring bars have a 2.0mm pin. Against an open hole like the one on the vintage 16570, a thinner pin won't hold. You need the correct diameter.
How do you remove them?
With a through-hole it's simple. Push a pin punch in from below, press, and the strap comes out. No forcing a tool into the notch, no risk of scratching the case.
Do they also work on the 16570 without a hole?
No. Post-2003 versions with solid lugs need a 1.5mm pin. These are 2.0mm, designed only for the through-hole.
What steel is it made of?
Hardened Swiss Standard steel. It measures 20mm between the lugs, the correct size for the 16570.
