The adapter fits into the original Apple Watch lugs and provides a conventional pin attachment, familiar to anyone who has ever changed a watch strap.

I have a 44mm Apple Watch but I'm not sure if it's 22 or 24 lug width. How do I know if this adapter will fit?
The lug width is the distance between the two holes where the strap attaches — measured in millimeters. On your 44mm it can be either 22 or 24. The safest way is to measure directly with a caliper, or check your exact watch model (you’ll find specs on Apple). The adapter you see here is for 24mm, so it works on 44mm × 24, 45mm × 24, and Apple Watch Ultra. If you’re unsure about your measurement, you can write before ordering.
Once the adapter is mounted, can I really use *any* strap, or are there compatibility limits?
The adapter converts Apple’s proprietary attachment into a standard conventional lug width — the kind you use on any other watch. So yes, any strap with a lug width attachment and the correct lug width (24mm in your case) will fit. Alligator, Horween, shell cordovan, canvas, rubber: it depends only on what you choose to mount.
The spring bars arrive — how do I install them without damaging anything?
It’s a standard strap change: remove one spring bar from position, insert the new one with the usual tool (a spring bar tool or strap changing tool). The adapter already has the holes ready for spring bars and Q-bars included in the package. No special tools needed — it’s the gesture every collector knows. If you’ve never done it, a watchmaker does it in two minutes.
Is the fit solid, or should I worry about the watch falling?
In the package you’ll find both standard spring bars and Q-bars — the correct combination for stable retention without play. The adapter slides into Apple’s original housings and leaves no room for slipping. Changing the strap takes just seconds precisely because everything is mechanically straightforward. It’s not a compromise.
How much does it really cost to change the strap every time? I’m worried about damaging the adapter if I keep removing and reinserting it.
The adapter stays fixed on the watch — only the straps are removed and remounted around the adapter. It’s like with a traditional watch: the strap attachment doesn’t wear unless you do it wrong a hundred thousand times. After years of normal use, the system remains solid. If you use a steady hand and a decent tool, there’s no risk.
