MILANO STRAPS · RECYCLED NATO

Leather and Recycled Nylon NATO Straps

The NATO was born military: a single band that runs under the case, so the watch stays on your wrist even if a spring bar gives way. I make it in two materials: hand-stitched Italian calf, which takes the shape of your wrist and darkens over the years, and recycled nylon — same hold, lighter soul.

What is the recycled nylon made of?

Recovered plastic cut into a dense weave. Same core as military NATO, but with an origin that weighs less on your conscience.

Is it water resistant?

Completely indifferent to water. Gym, sea, rain—soak it, it dries, nothing changes. It's the strap that doesn't ask for attention.

How long does it last?

Years of actual use. Recycled nylon doesn't dry out or crack like neglected leather might; at most you swap it because you want another color.

What lug widths do you offer?

20 and 22mm—the standard sizes for sports watches. For your specific watch size, drop us the model and we'll confirm.

Can it be washed?

Lukewarm water and neutral soap, then air dry. Comes out like new, color included.

Do you make leather NATO straps?

Yes. Italian calf, cut and hand-stitched in our Milan workshop. Single pass, lug widths from 18 to 22mm. The leather takes the shape of your wrist and darkens with wear: a NATO that ages well.

Leather or nylon NATO — which one?

It depends on how you live with the watch. Leather for everyday wear and vintage dials: it matures, it takes on character. Recycled nylon for water, gym and travel: it gets wet, dries, asks nothing of you.

Can a leather NATO handle water?

No, and I won't promise otherwise. Leather asks for dry days and repays you with patina. If your watch often ends up in water, nylon is the honest choice.
