Set of two spring bars for Rolex Daytona reference 16528 in 18-carat yellow gold, in hardened Swiss Standard steel. Size: 20mm between the lugs. Pin diameter: 1.8mm. For the entire 16528 production, from 1988 to 2000 — the first automatic Daytona with modified Zenith El Primero movement.
The 16528 is the Daytona of serious collectors. Zenith movement recalibrated by Rolex, 18k gold case, drilled lugs on the early production years. The 1.8mm pin specification: it holds better than the 1.5mm against vintage drilled lugs, and doesn’t force the seat in soft gold the way a full 2.0mm would.

Are these spring bars suitable for my Daytona 16528?
Yes, they are designed for the entire 16528 production run, from 1988 to 2000. Size 20mm between the lugs, matching your gold case.
Why is the pin 1.8mm and not 2.0mm or 1.5mm?
On the 16528, the lugs from the early years are drilled. The 1.8mm holds better against the vintage hole compared to a 1.5mm, and it doesn't force the socket in the soft gold as a solid 2.0mm would. This is the specification size for this model.
What material are they made of?
Hardened Swiss Standard steel. It withstands spring tension without deforming, even with the soft gold of the case.
Can I fit them with a hand-stitched leather strap?
These are the spring bars I fit myself when a customer arrives with a 16528 and wants a hand-stitched leather strap. If you're looking for a model that is already hand-stitched, I can show you one from the catalogue. If you want a made-to-order hand-stitched strap, that is done at the Casati Milano atelier: 4-6 weeks, with details to be defined with me.
