Taper — Rastrematura

Taper, or strap narrowing, is the progressive reduction in width of the watch strap from the lug (case side) to the buckle. It's expressed with two numbers, for example 20/16mm: 20mm at the lug, 16mm at the buckle. An accentuated taper (20/14) visually slims the wrist and pairs well with a deployant clasp. A subtle taper (20/18) or no taper (20/20) is more sporty. The choice depends on the type of closure and the style you're seeking.
