Leather and nylon: two straps for the same watch

Two families coexist in this collection. The first is leather: vintage calfskin, alligator, shell cordovan, hand-stitched and made to last for years. The second, less conspicuous, is nylon: NATO and single-pass military straps, many in recycled nylon, with contrasting edges and stitching. I keep them together because they serve the same watch on different days. Leather for the office and evenings, nylon for the sea, the bicycle, the summer. Nylon does not fear water, washes in an instant and costs a fraction. If you own a single watch, I recommend one of each: the lug width is the same, only the morning gesture changes.

How do I measure my watch's lug width?

I take a ruler or a calliper and measure between the two lugs, where the strap fits. The most common sizes are 18, 20 and 22 mm. Here you'll find straps from 16 to 24 mm.

What is the difference between alligator, cordovan and recycled nylon?

Alligator has a fine, regular grain, Horween shell cordovan is compact and smooth. I use recycled nylon for the NATO and military models, more technical and water-resistant.

Are recycled nylon NATO straps suitable for everyday wear?

Yes, I designed them for daily and sporty use. They hold up well against sweat and moisture, better than leather in these conditions.

Can I have a made-to-measure strap for my watch?
