This width was chosen by Oris to maintain optical balance relative to the 40mm case diameter and ensure wearing comfort. Any aftermarket strap must have holes precisely 20mm apart to accommodate the spring bars correctly.

For this model, we recommend a 20mm shell cordovan strap with vegetable tanning: the tight grain and developing patina enhance its aviator character. Alternatively, a pearl-grey alligator maintains aesthetic coherence with the steel case, whilst a military NATO in Cordura canvas or FKM rubber ensures durability and versatile daily wear.

Use a spring bar tool to gently remove the spring bars from the case lugs. Extract the worn strap. Position the spring bars in the new strap (20mm width), ensuring holes align precisely. Reinsert the bars into the case lugs with even pressure until you hear the engagement click. Verify the strap is secure before wearing.
