Black and White Driver Leather Strap
SKU: 304-BKW-18-ST
Black and white: motorsport's oldest contrast. That of panda dials, fabric helmets, smoky oil and petrol pits. The Driver was born from there — from the aesthetics of vintage racing, when a chronograph on a driver's wrist was a tool, not a style statement.
The leather is Italian full-grain calfskin: fine grain, compact fiber, a surface that doesn't surrender to wear but absorbs it and translates it into character. The edges are burned and sealed by hand, one by one — a process that protects the cut and, over time, builds a patina that each strap develops differently. The waxed polyester thread stitching follows the same logic as automotive saddlery: constant tension, uniform stitches, long-lasting durability.
The chromatic contrast is not decorative. It is structural. It works on a sports chronograph as well as on a dress watch, on a panda dial as well as on a skeletonized one. The Driver doesn't adapt — it remains itself and lets the watch find its own balance.

It softens to your wrist.
It starts firm and, week after week, takes the shape of your wrist. The surface grows warmer to the touch, the colour gains depth where the light hits it. No plastic on top: leather that ages honestly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this strap really hold up over time, or will the white turn grey after a year?
It is Italian full-grain calfskin — the fibre is compact and the grain fine. It does not surrender to wear, it absorbs it and translates it into character. The white and black do not fade by construction: the contrast is structural, not decorative. Over time it develops a personal patina, but that is the strap’s story, not degradation. The edges, burnished and sealed by hand, protect the cut and consolidate this evolution.
I have a Rolex Submariner 40 with 20mm lugs. Will this Driver fit?
Yes. The Driver is available in 20mm × 16mm and compatible with any watch with standard lugs — Rolex included. The width refers to the lug width, which for your Submariner is precisely that. Total length: 115mm × 75mm, thickness 2.5mm.
How do the stitches hold up? I know leather moves, and I wouldn’t want them to start tearing at some point.
Waxed polyester thread in matching tone — it is not linen, it is not cotton. It follows the same logic as automotive upholstery: constant tension, uniform stitches, lasting hold. Precisely because calfskin moves and works, the waxed thread remains consistent and does not slacken. It is not an aesthetic choice, it is technical.
Does black and white really work on everything, or is it one of those straps that only suits certain watches?
It works on a sports chronograph as well as on a dress watch, on a panda dial as well as on a skeletonised one. The Driver does not adapt — it remains itself and lets the watch find its own balance. It was born from motorsport aesthetics, but the chromatic contrast is structural, not decorative.
At what point in the manufacturing process do the edges get damaged? I am concerned that without protection they will fray immediately.
The edges are burnished and sealed by hand, one by one. This process protects the cut and over time builds a patina that every strap develops differently. It is not a temporary protection — it is a structural sealing that endures.
