The lug width of this reference is precisely 20 millimetres. Measure it by placing a calliper between the lugs — those small cylindrical attachments on the case that hold the strap ends. This measurement is critical for ensuring compatibility with any aftermarket strap.

The ideal strap depends on your intended use. For classical elegance, we recommend calf leather with vegetable tanning — its irregular grain contrasts beautifully against the brushed case. For daily practicality and durability, a NATO strap in polyamide is unbeatable. For aquatic or sporty conditions, vulcanised rubber with a steel deployant clasp is the technically superior choice.

The procedure is straightforward: using a spring bar remover tool or a thin screwdriver, gently press the small metal pin that secures the original strap. The pin will slide out, freeing one end of the strap. Repeat on the other side. Install your new 20mm strap by inserting its lug holes into the same case attachments.

Any strap with a 20mm lug width is compatible. This includes: full-grain leather (calf, alligator, shell cordovan), NATO straps in canvas and polyamide, vulcanised rubber, waxed canvas, ostrich leather and even military-grade canvas. Always verify that the declared lug width is exactly 20mm to ensure precise fit.

A quality leather strap with vegetable tanning typically lasts 18-24 months of daily wear before significant deterioration becomes visible. Lifespan depends on sun exposure, humidity and frequency of use. Alligator or shell cordovan straps — characterised by more durable fibres — can last up to 3 years. Vulcanised rubber, if kept clean, exceeds 5 years of useful life.
