The lug width of this model is exactly 20 mm. The stainless steel lugs maintain a tolerance of ±0.5 mm, but the ideal fit remains at 20 mm to guarantee aesthetic and functional stability. An undersized strap risks undesired vertical rotation, whilst an oversized strap forces the case structure and damages the attachment pins over time.

The choice depends on intended use. For daily elegance, a shell cordovan or vegetable-tanned calf leather strap enhances the minimalist steel case line and develops personal patina over time. For sportive practicality, a synthetic NATO textile guarantees rapid changes and extreme durability. For hot climates, an FKM or fluoroelastomer rubber strap offers comfort and sweat resistance without compromising robustness.

The Oris Big Crown utilises an integrated fixed lug attachment system. To remove the strap, extract the attachment pins (lugs) using a dedicated springbar remover tool or fine probe. Insert the tool into the small lateral hole present on the lug, exert gentle pressure to compress the pin's internal spring, then extract the pin from the case. Repeat on the opposite side. Installation of the new strap follows the reverse procedure: insert the pin into the strap, then align and insert the pin into the case lug until you feel the spring's perceptible click.

Any strap with a 20 mm lug width is compatible with this model. Vegetable-tanned leather straps with protective finish resist longer. To extend lifespan, avoid direct seawater exposure, store in dry environments and occasionally apply wax conditioner. NATO or rubber straps, conversely, maintain functionality for 5–8 years without significant degradation, even in humid environments.
