Spring bars Rolex Submariner 5512 — 20mm vintage
€12,95
Set of two spring bars for Rolex Submariner reference 5512, in hardened Swiss Standard steel. Size: 20mm between the lugs. Pin diameter: 2.0mm. Drilled lugs. Compatible with the entire 5512 production, from 1959 to 1980 — the chronometer Submariner, sister of the 5513 without date.
The 5512 and the 5513 share case and bracelet. The difference lies in the certified chronometer movement of the 5512 versus the standard calibre of the 5513. For strap fitting nothing changes: same drilled hole, same 2.0mm pin, same work in the atelier. The earliest 5512s have the Big Crown case — rare pieces, but the spring bars remain these.
The same piece I fit in the atelier every time I work on a 5512.

Domande Frequenti
Are these spring bars compatible with my 5513?
Yes, perfectly. The 5512 and 5513 share the same case, the same drilled lug cavity, and the same 2.0mm pin. The only difference between the two models is the movement: chronometer on the 5512, standard caliber on the 5513. Strap installation is identical.
Is the pin diameter really 2.0mm? Will there be play in the strap?
Yes, 2.0mm Swiss Standard. If you find play, it’s because the strap lugs are worn or not original Rolex. With a correct vintage strap, the fit is precise. If you mount on a modern strap with wider lugs, you will naturally have more movement.
Can I use these on an early Big Crown 5512? I’m worried the case might be different.
They will work nonetheless. The earliest Big Crown 5512 cases are slightly smaller, but the drilled cavity and pin remain 2.0mm. The only risk is if the cavity is slightly worn: in that case, the bar might have some lateral play.
How do I install these spring bars without damaging the drilled lugs?
A dedicated tool (spring bar tool) and patience are required. Insert the tip into the lug hole, gently press toward the strap to compress the bar, then slide the other end into the case cavity. Never force: if you feel resistance, the bar is not correctly aligned.
