Set of two spring bars for Rolex Daytona, in hardened Swiss Standard steel. Diameters 1.5mm and 2.0mm according to the generation. The Daytona was released in 1963 with the 6239 and has changed case three times: vintage manual, Zenith El Primero 16520, in-house 116520 and modern 126500.
On the vintage models, from the 6239 to the 6265, the pin is 2.0mm on drilled lugs. On the Zenith 16520 and Patrick 116520 the diameter drops to 1.5mm and the lugs become blind. On the 126500 same pin, slightly different hollow geometry. Three generations, three assembly logics.
When a client brings in a Daytona for the strap, these are the spring bars in the drawer. Same supplier for years.

I have a Daytona 16520 with 1.5mm diameter: can I use the 2.0mm bars from my old 6239?
No, absolutely not. The 2.0mm in a 1.5mm slot fits poorly, rattles inside the lug, and the bracelet slips. The 16520 has solid lugs and 1.5mm pins: you must use the correct bars for that generation. Always measure before installation—that’s the only rule.
Are the spring bars in the set tempered? How long do they last before losing tension?
Yes, they are Swiss Standard steel tempered to specific hardness to withstand load cycles. Under normal use they last years without issues; tension loss is slow and gradual. If a bar no longer holds the bracelet after 5–10 years, that’s normal: steel fatigues like any spring.
What diameter is needed for my modern Daytona, the 126500?
The 126500 uses 1.5mm like the 16520 and 116520, but the cavity geometry is slightly different. Technically the diameter is compatible, but modern lugs are more precise: verify that the bar clicks in perfectly with no play. If it feels smooth and secure when loading, it’s fine.
The lugs on my vintage 6239 are drilled: do the 2.0mm bars you sell really fit cleanly?
Yes, 2.0mm on drilled lugs is the historical standard for the 6239–6265. They should enter with slight resistance and sit straight, with no side play. If it’s too tight or too loose, either your lug is worn or the diameter isn’t correct: test before forcing.
