Set of two spring bars for modern Rolex and Tudor with drilled lugs, in hardened Swiss Standard steel. Available diameters 1.5mm and 2.0mm depending on the reference. Designed for contemporary cases that retain the through-hole: Sea-Dweller 16600, Submariner 14060, GMT 16710 first series, Tudor Black Bay with drilled lugs.
Drilled lugs are disappearing from modern watches. The few that remain are almost all sport tools. It changes the way you work: the pin comes out with a direct pin pusher, no forked tool. And the diameter changes, because against an open hole you need more material to hold.
I use them in the atelier when I remove straps on these models. The same part my watchmaker fits during servicing.

What is the difference between 1.5mm and 2.0mm diameter? How do I know which one to choose for my watch?
The diameter depends on the lug hole: measure with a caliper the through-hole of your drilled lug, that is your diameter. 1.5mm is for vintage models like Submariner 14060 and GMT 16710 early series, 2.0mm for newer Tudor Black Bay and Sea-Dweller 16600. If the hole is unclear, measure twice.
Can I use these spring bars with my watchmaker’s forceps or must I use the punch pin?
With drilled lugs you must use the punch pin, not forceps. The pin exits from one side only of the open hole, you have no lateral space to maneuver. This is why these models take longer in atelier, but the result is cleaner and the pin stays firmly in place.
Are they compatible with all Rolex and Tudor watches with drilled lugs or only with the models you list?
Only with the models we indicated: Rolex Sea-Dweller 16600, Submariner 14060, GMT 16710 early series, Tudor Black Bay with drilled lugs. If your watch is not on the list, the hole may be a different diameter. Always verify by measuring the hole before ordering.
How durable is the tempered Swiss Standard steel? I’m concerned it might break during installation.
The steel is tempered specifically to withstand the punch pin and strap weight. The risk of breakage comes from technique: if you force the punch pin sideways instead of straight into the hole, you can bend the pin. Always work with the punch pin parallel to the hole and do not force beyond what is necessary.
