Set of two spring bars for Rolex Submariner reference 14060, in hardened Swiss Standard steel. Size: 20mm lug-to-lug. Pin diameter: 1.8mm. Compatible with the 14060 production from 1989 to 2001 — the last no-date Submariner with drilled lugs before the transition to the 14060M.
The 14060 sits in the middle. Drilled lugs still, like a vintage piece, but the case is already modern. On pin diameter the community is aligned on 1.8mm: it holds better than 1.5mm on drilled lugs, but does not force the way the full 2.0mm of the Seventies Subs does. It is the right compromise for the transition of those years.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know if these are right for my Submariner?
Check the lugs. If they are drilled, as on the old vintage models, you have the reference 14060 produced between 1989 and 2001. These spring bars are made for that model.
Why is the diameter 1.8mm and not 1.5 or 2.0?
On the 14060, the 1.5mm pin moves loosely in the lug hole, while the solid 2.0mm pin from the 1970s Submariners forces too much. The 1.8mm size is the one that holds securely without stressing the drilled lug.
What material are they made of?
Hardened Swiss Standard steel. The same piece I fit at the workbench when a customer brings in their 14060 for a strap change.
Do they also fit the 14060M?
No. The 14060M has closed lugs, not drilled ones. These spring bars are designed for the original 14060, produced from 1989 to 2001.
Do I need special tools to fit them?
The drilled lugs make it easier: you can push the pin with a thin spring bar tool directly through the side hole, without having to lever against the case. That is why changing the strap on these models is simpler.
