Set of two spring bars for Rolex GMT-Master II 116718 in yellow gold, in hardened Swiss Standard steel. Size: 20mm between the lugs. Pin 1.5mm. The 116718 is the first Maxi case GMT-Master II in gold, produced from 2005 to 2019 with full 18kt Oyster bracelet.
The 116718 features the complete Maxi case: wider and more robust lugs compared to the 16718, with case geometry revised to support the heavier gold bracelet. The modern classic 1.5mm pin is the correct specification. The black 116718LN and the green 116718GR (anniversary) are the variants most frequently seen in the atelier.

Are these spring bars compatible with my 116718 with original Oyster bracelet in gold?
Yes, these are exactly what we install in our atelier. The 1.5mm pin is the standard Rolex uses on the Maxi case 116718. However, note: if you already have the full gold bracelet, your case likely already has the original bars. These are needed only if you need to replace them due to bending, loss, or if you want to fit a different strap.
Can I use them on other GMT-Master II models, such as the 16718 or 126710?
No. The 116718 is a Maxi case with wider lugs (20mm between lugs). The earlier 16718 is narrower, and the newer 126710 has different specifications. The 1.5mm pin is correct, but the lug geometry of your case must match the 116718. If unsure, measure the distance between the lugs.
They’re stainless steel — could they detach over time if the case is gold?
Tempered Swiss Standard stainless steel holds extremely well. The issue is not the material, but improper installation (pin not straight) or excessive force during changes. I leave them in place even on infrequently used straps. If you notice one slipping after months, it means it was installed incorrectly the first time.
How much does it cost to replace them in the atelier? Is it worth buying them and doing it myself?
In our atelier, we include them in strap changes (usually free if original). If you buy and install them yourself, you need proper tools and a steady hand — the risk is bending the pin or scratching the lugs. If it’s your first time, the savings don’t justify the risk on a €30-40k case.
