4.8 Customers rate us 4.8/5 based on 256 reviews.

Set of two spring bars for Rolex Day-Date reference 1803 in yellow gold, in hardened Swiss Standard steel. Size: 20mm between the lugs. Pin 1.8mm. Drilled lugs. The 1803 is the first modern Day-Date, produced from 1959 to 1979 — twenty years of production, acrylic Plexi crystal, calibre 1555/1556, one of the most important Rolex references in history.

The 1803 is the quintessential classic President. 36mm case in 18kt gold, fluted or polished bezel, President bracelet or leather strap. Drilled lugs and 1.8mm pin — an intermediate specification between the 2.0mm sport and the modern 1.5mm dress. Even on solid gold the pin remains hardened steel: 18kt gold cannot withstand the cyclic load of a heavy President bracelet.

The same spring bars on every client’s 1803.

The joy of little things

Changing your strap should be as simple as changing your shoes. With us, it is.

Every strap has integrated quick-release spring bars: swap it in one gesture, no tools, no risk of scratching the lugs. The same watch shifts mood with the moment.

Domande Frequenti

Are these spring bars compatible with all 1803 models or do I need to check the serial number?

They are compatible with all 1803 models produced between 1959 and 1979. The only variable is whether the watch has original drilled lugs — this is the case 99% of the time, but if someone replaced the lugs with solid ones (rare, but it happens), these will not fit. Check that your lugs have two holes.

The pin is 1.8mm: is there risk of play inside the lug or breaking the strap?

1.8mm is the standard intermediate size for the 1803 — not as tight as a 1.5mm dress pin, but not as loose as a 2.0mm. It enters with slight pressure, without forcing. If the strap is in good condition, there is no risk. If the lugs are worn or loose (common on 1970s pieces), the pin will have some play, but this is normal for that era.

Can I use these on other Rolex gold models or do I need different bars?

No, these are specific to the 1803. They measure 20mm between the lugs with a 1.8mm pin — the 1803 is unique in that combination. Other contemporary gold Rolex references, even the gold Datejust, use different sizes. Always verify your reference before ordering.

They are tempered steel: will they hold up if I remove and refit them frequently to try different straps?

Yes, they hold up well. But the rule is: use a decent spring bar tool and do not force. If you remove and refit 20 times a month for a year, metal fatigue is inevitable. For a gold 1803, I recommend choosing the correct strap and keeping it, rather than continuous experimentation. The strength of these spring bars is durability, not convenience for frequent replacement.
