Set of two Omega 19mm spring bars, in hardened Swiss Standard steel. Pin diameter: 1.8mm. Typical size of vintage Seamaster De Ville from the Sixties, early transitional pre-Moon Speedmasters, and certain Seventies Omega chronographs with oversized lugs.
19mm is one of the most characteristic sizes of vintage Omega. Speedmaster reference 105.003 Ed White and early 105.012 Moonwatch used 19mm before the definitive transition to 20mm. Seamaster 300 early series 165.024 also 19mm. Pin 1.8mm Omega standard, but on vintage lugs often drilled — better than a generic 1.5mm that wobbles in the hole.

Is the 1.8mm pin really necessary or could I use a generic 1.5mm instead?
No, it’s not an option. Vintage Omega lugs, especially on Seamaster 300 and Speedmaster models from the 1960s, have slightly wider drilled cavities compared to modern standards — a generic 1.5mm pin will rattle inside and the bracelet will move on the watch. The 1.8mm adheres correctly to the original Omega tolerance and keeps the bracelet stable without forcing.
Can I use them on a Seamaster De Ville from the 1960s that I own?
Yes, the vintage De Ville uses 19mm like the Seamaster 300 from the same era. Just verify the lug cavities: if you see metal-lined and corroded cavities, check that the pin enters and exits smoothly — heavily worn lugs sometimes have restricted cavities and the pin won’t pass through.
Do these 19mm also work for a Speedmaster 105.003?
Exactly, the Ed White 105.003 came with 19mm as standard like the 105.012 from the early 1960s. If your reference is original 1960-1965, this is the correct diameter — the shift to 20mm comes later with modern Speedmaster Professional models.
If I have a 1970s Omega chronograph with oversized lugs, does the 19mm work?
It depends on the effective lug width. The 19mm refers to the pin diameter, not the bracelet width — if your watch requires a 20mm bracelet width, you need 20mm pins, regardless of the lugs. Check the bracelet size, not the production year.
