I have a small wrist, like a woman's. Will this strap really fit me, or does it always stay too wide?
It depends on the size you choose. We have two sizes: 20mm × 16mm for smaller wrists, and 22mm × 18mm for standard wrists. Total length is 115mm × 75mm — the shorter segment (75mm) is the one that closes on your wrist. If you wear your watch tight and have a thin wrist, the 20×16 size is designed exactly for this. But the real advice is to verify which sizes your Apple Watch model uses before ordering.
Does lizard become rigid like cardboard over time, like other leathers?
No, that’s why we chose lizard: that texture of tight scales stays flexible even after months of use. Other denser leathers give you a strap that stiffens up and then becomes a problem to wear all day. Lizard maintains softness of fit precisely because the nature of the leather is like that. Obviously, it needs to be cared for as it deserves — it’s not a leather you ignore.
If water gets on it in the shower or my wrist gets wet, will it ruin it right away?
It has a water-repellent treatment, so splashes and moisture pass through. It’s not waterproof — it’s not synthetic leather. But it resists normal sprays: shower, hand washing, everyday sweat. Stagnant water or prolonged immersion, no, that’s another story. It’s a strap that lives with you, not against your wet wrist.
This yellow you see in the photos — is that what arrives, or is every piece different?
Every piece has its own color and grain variation. It’s not a defect, it’s real leather: two lizards are not identical. What you see in photos is a reference, not a promise of pixel-perfect uniformity. If the yellow has to be exactly that color, worked leather isn’t for you. If instead you appreciate that your strap is truly unique compared to someone else’s, then you already understand the game.
How long before it wears out, or at least when do I start seeing signs of use?
Lizard is a dense and regular leather, not like calf that marks with every scratch. Signs of use come, obviously — it’s living leather — but you don’t pay attention to them. What matters is the structure holds: the strap doesn’t fray, doesn’t crack. If you treat it like an object you’ll use for years, it lasts years. How long exactly? That depends on you more than the leather.
