Matte Grey Alligator Strap
SKU: 402-GRYM-18-ST
Matte alligator has a different character from glossy alligator. No reflections, no immediate visual impact — just the texture, the color, the material. The grey in this finish doesn't seek attention: it commands it.
The scales are selected for uniformity and treated with a matte finish that enhances the leather's naturalness without altering its structure. The result is a strap that can be worn discreetly but is recognized up close for what it is: genuine alligator, crafted in Italy.
The calibrated thickness — from 3.5 mm at the lugs to 2.5 mm towards the buckle — ensures comfort on the wrist without sacrificing rigidity where needed. A formal strap that also works outside of a formal context.

Patina is the signature of time.
Alligator doesn't wear down: it matures. The first months on the wrist soften its flank, light darkens the ridges just slightly, and the colour deepens. We treat it with neutral oils, no varnish to smother the grain: what you take home isn't finished, it's only beginning.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does this matte grey hold up over time? If I wear it every day, will the matte finish polish up and end up looking like the others?
No. The matte finish is structural to the leather, not a surface treatment that wears off. The matte alligator retains its character. What will change over time is the natural patina of the alligator — the hide ages, develops nuances, tells the story of its wear. But the matte finish remains. It is precisely the opposite of a strap that gleamed when new and then disappoints.
I have a watch with 18mm lugs. Will the strap fit, or should I go for the 19 to be more comfortable?
18mm x 16mm is the measurement that corresponds to 18mm lugs. If your watch has 18mm lugs, this is your strap. The measurements run from the lug (where it touches the watch) to the base of the buckle: for 18mm at the lug we have 16mm towards the buckle. It is not a matter of comfort, it is a matter of correct fit.
I like straps that bend a little on the wrist. Isn’t this alligator at 3.5mm at the lug too stiff?
It is stiff where it needs to be — at the lug, where it holds the watch firm — but it tapers to 2.5mm towards the buckle. It is not a soft strap, it is structured. If you are looking for something that moves like fabric, this is not for you. If instead you want a strap that you simply put on, with no compromise on hold, then this is the right one.
Is alligator more delicate than crocodile? I mean, can I wear it every day or do I have to handle it with silk gloves?
It is genuine alligator, crafted in Italy, not a caprice. It is meant to be worn. It is designed for the wrist of the person wearing it, not for the drawer. The fact that it is matte and grey, moreover, works in its favour: it does not pick up dirt the way a high gloss does. Over time it will develop its own appearance, as it should.
115mm and 75mm doesn’t tell me much. How long is it really? Is it right for a 16-17cm wrist, or should I look at something else?
The lengths are 115mm on the lug side and 75mm on the buckle side. These are the actual measurements. How they sit on your wrist depends on how your watch is built, on where you position the buckle, on the circumference you have. It is not a universal measurement — it is something decided by trying it on. If you have doubts, it is a conversation to have with us, not a calculation.
