Frequently asked questions
What is the lug width of the Steinhart Diver P0914?
The Steinhart Diver P0914 features a 22mm lug width, a medium-to-large size that requires careful aftermarket strap selection. Accurate measurement is obtained by placing a ruler between the inner lateral pins of the case.
Which strap is recommended for the Diver P0914?
For the P0914, we recommend Italian leather with vegetable tanning (Testa di Moro) for the best balance between elegance and durability. Alternatively, heavyweight cotton NATO straps or FKM rubber for repeated diving. Alligator is suitable only for occasional wear due to relative fragility.
How do you change the strap on a Steinhart Diver P0914?
Use a spring bar tool to gently lift the lateral case pins. Locate the two small cavities below the lug and insert the tool tip into one cavity, pushing toward the centre to release the pin. Repeat on the other side. Insert the new strap by aligning the holes with the pins and press until you hear the click of closure.
Are there compatible aftermarket straps for the P0914?
Yes. Milano Straps offers a dedicated collection of 22mm straps in vegetable-tanned Tuscan leather, NATO, and technical rubber, all tested for structural compatibility with the P0914 lug. Availability is guaranteed with rapid delivery and customisation options.
What is the lifespan of a leather strap for the Diver P0914?
A well-maintained vegetable-tanned leather strap lasts 18–36 months with moderate use. Repeated immersion in salt water reduces lifespan to 12–18 months. Natural patina ageing is desirable and part of the material's charm; replacement occurs when the strap loses structural elasticity.
