Spring bars Submariner 16618 gold — 20mm blind lugs
€20,95
Set of two spring bars for Rolex Submariner 16618 in yellow gold with blind lugs, in hardened Swiss Standard steel. Size: 20mm between lugs. Pin 1.5mm. The 16618 is the Submariner Date in yellow gold produced from 1988 to 2009, in the blind-lug version for production runs after the early Nineties.
The 16618 has two known variants in terms of strap fitting: first series with drilled lugs still from the 5513/1680 period, and second series with blind lugs introduced in the mid-Nineties. This is the blind-lug variant: 1.5mm pin, closed recess, fitting only from the case side with a fork tool.
The same spring bars I fit on clients’ 16618 blind-lug references. Same supplier.

Domande Frequenti
Are these spring bars compatible with all 16618 models or only some?
Compatible only with 16618 models produced from the mid-1990s onward, those with solid lugs. Earlier late-1980s series still featured drilled lugs and used 1.6mm pins. If your 16618 has visible eyelets on the lugs, these spring bars are not suitable.
Is the 1.5mm pin truly compatible with the 16618 lug seats, or will it move laterally?
The 1.5mm is the exact standard for this version. The 16618 solid lug seats are precisely drilled for this diameter. If you observe lateral movement, the issue lies in the case hole, not the spring bar itself.
How do I install them if the lugs are solid? Must I remove the strap?
Yes, approach from the case side. Remove the strap, insert the removal tool into the seat, and push the spring bar with pin toward the lug interior. The opposite side (strap side) is inaccessible because it is closed. A watch-specific tool is required—installation by hand alone is difficult.
Does the tempered steel resist bending, or does it bend easily? What warranty do I have if it breaks?
Swiss Standard tempered steel is robust for normal use. It does not bend easily when used correctly—risk occurs only with dropping or forced installation. This is a consumable part; after 10–15 years of mounting/unmounting cycles, wear is normal. No warranty against wear is offered, but defective units from manufacturing will be replaced.
