Set of two spring bars for modern Rolex in yellow gold, in tempered Swiss Standard steel. Size: 20mm between the lugs. Pin diameter: 1.5mm. Compatible with all modern 36-40mm Rolex cases in yellow gold with drilled-through lugs: transitional Day-Date 36, Datejust 36 gold, Sky-Dweller yellow gold.
The Rolex specification for modern yellow gold cases with blind lugs is 1.5mm. The case lugs remain in gold, the pin in steel by design. A choice you don’t see but you feel — when I work a strap on a Datejust 36 gold, the difference with a generic pin is clear.

Will these spring bars work on my yellow gold 36 Datejust with solid lugs?
Yes, they are specific for this. The 1.5mm is the Rolex standard for modern solid lugs in yellow gold on 36-40mm cases. Test them before installation: the pin must slide inside the lug smoothly without forcing, with minimal play.
Can I use them on a 41 Datejust or other larger Rolex cases?
No, they are not universal. The 41 and oversized models use 1.6mm pins. While the 1.5mm might seem close, the internal clearance of the lug is different and the strap will rattle.
What’s the difference between your spring bars and generic 1.5mm ones online?
Material matters: ours are tempered Swiss Standard steel, not the soft iron you find online. On a gold case, you feel the difference in fit and pin durability — it won’t wear out after two strap changes.
Are they difficult to install? I’m afraid of scratching the gold lug.
You need the right tool (ball-end pliers, not pointed ones): compress the pin from inside without touching the lug. If you don’t have the tool, you risk real damage. Consider having it done professionally or investing in proper pliers — scratched gold doesn’t fade away.
