Spring bars modern Rolex 21mm × 1.5mm
€12,95
Set of two spring bars for modern Rolex 21mm × 1.5mm, in hardened Swiss Standard steel. Blind lugs. Size introduced by Rolex on the new-generation 40mm cases: Submariner 126610, Sea-Dweller 126600, GMT-Master II 126710, modern Daytona in certain variants.
21mm is the dimensional leap of 2020. Rolex moves from 20mm to 21mm to balance the new 41mm case — wider lug, better visual integration with the Oyster bracelet. The pin remains 1.5mm: the recess is blind and the geometry essentially identical to the 20mm. Only the length of the spring bar changes.
The same piece I fit in the atelier on all modern 41mm watches with 21mm lugs.

Domande Frequenti
Is 21mm really different from the 20mm used on previous Rolex models, or is it just a matter of length?
It’s just length. The pin remains 1.5mm, the cavity is identical, the geometry doesn’t change. In 2020 Rolex extended the bar by 1mm to fit the new 41mm case and wider Oyster lug. If you have a Submariner 126610 or GMT 126710, you need 21mm; if you have the previous model with 40mm case, stick with 20mm.
Can I use these bars on watches from other brands with 21mm lug width, or are they Rolex-specific?
Technically no. Ours are designed for Rolex blind cavities with 1.5mm pin. Other brands with 21mm lug width may have different geometries — deeper cavities, different pin diameter, variable case thickness. Check your watch first; if the pin isn’t 1.5mm, these won’t work.
How delicate is it to install a 21mm bar in a blind cavity? Risk of damaging the case?
If you use a proper spring bar tool (not fingernails, not screwdrivers), the risk is minimal. The Rolex blind cavity is robust. The real danger is inserting the bar at an angle — you must insert it straight, feel both springs click, then verify it’s centered. If it’s not perfectly straight on the first attempt, remove and try again; never force it.
You say they’re hardened steel — how long do they last before losing elasticity?
With normal use (occasional strap removal, not daily), they maintain elasticity for years. Swiss Standard hardening is superior to 90% of what you find elsewhere. Real wear comes when you start changing straps every week. We use them in our atelier and don’t replace them unless the customer damages them mechanically.
