Spring bars Rolex GMT-Master — complete set for the line
€12,95
Set of two spring bars for Rolex GMT-Master, in hardened Swiss Standard steel. Pin diameter available in 1.5mm, 1.8mm and 2.0mm depending on the reference. The GMT-Master was released in 1955 with the 6542 and continues through to today’s 126710: the correct pin changes with the era.
On the early GMTs, 6542 and 1675, the pin is 2.0mm. On the vintage 16700 and 16710 it drops to 1.8mm. On the modern 116710 and 126710 with blind lugs it is 1.5mm. This is not marketing — it is the original Rolex specification read from the service sheets.
The same piece I fit in the atelier when I work on a GMT. I always replace the spring bars when changing the strap, even if the old ones look fine. The pin works every day.

Domande Frequenti
How do I know which pin diameter my GMT-Master requires?
It depends on the era. The 6542 and 1675 (1950s-1970s) use 2.0mm pins. The vintage 16700 and 16710 use 1.8mm. Modern versions like the 116710 and 126710 with solid lugs drop to 1.5mm. If unsure, check the Rolex service sheet for your reference or measure the diameter with a digital caliper in the lug holes — it’s the fastest way to avoid mistakes.
Can I use these spring bars on other brands besides Rolex?
Technically yes, if the lug width and pin diameter match. However, it’s rare for other brands to use exactly the same Rolex standards, especially on vintage models. Before installing, verify that the pin enters the lug holes without forcing — excessive pressure risks damaging the holes.
Are these spring bars original Rolex or compatible?
They are compatible, not OEM. However, they are manufactured to original Rolex technical specifications — same Swiss Standard steel, same tempering, same diameter. When working in my atelier, I install them in place of worn originals because they last longer and hold better than what Rolex currently uses on modern watches.
How long does a spring bar last before needing replacement?
With proper care, 5-10 years. The limit isn’t breakage but shoulder wear on the pin — after many strap changes they lose tension. I always replace the bars when changing the strap; it’s standard practice. If you notice the strap moving around shortly after installation, the spring bar is likely worn and needs replacement.
