Set of two spring bars for Rolex GMT-Master II reference 16713 drilled lugs version, in hardened Swiss Standard steel. Size: 20mm between the lugs. Pin 1.8mm. Drilled lugs. The 16713 is the steel-gold GMT-Master II produced from 1989 to 2007 — drilled lugs version for the 1989-2003 production, two-tone sister of the drilled 16710.

The drilled 16713 is the first production phase of this two-tone GMT. Pin 1.8mm — transitional specification, still applicable to drilled lugs but already thinner than the vintage 2.0mm. Black or Tiger Eye brown dial, black-red Coke or black bezel. Leather strap on a two-tone 16713 is a Nineties style classic that periodically returns.

Same spring bars on every 16713 drilled lugs. Same supplier.

Domande Frequenti

Are these spring bars compatible only with the 16713 drilled or do they work on other GMTs?

Only on the drilled 16713 from early production (1989-2003). The drilled 16710 from the same period uses the same 1.8mm pin, so theoretically compatible, but they do not fit the 16713 solid lug (post-2003) and the 16570: the hole has been sealed. Visually verify if the lugs have a through-hole before ordering.

Is the 1.8mm pin really thinner than the vintage 2.0mm? Risk of the strap moving?

Yes, it is approximately 0.2mm thinner per side. It is not an issue on well-preserved drilled lugs: the hole maintains tight tolerance. If the lugs are worn or enlarged over time, the play increases. This is a design characteristic of the early phase 16713 drilled, not a defect of our spring bars.

Can I use these on an aftermarket leather strap for my drilled 16713?

It depends on how the strap was constructed: if it faithfully reproduces the dimensions of the original Rolex lugs (20mm between the holes), yes. If it is a generic model it may have different tolerances. Measure the distance between the holes on the lugs: it must be exactly 20mm, center-to-center.

How do I install these spring bars without damaging the dial?

Use a spring bar tool with rounded ends, not pointed. Insert first from one side, compress the pin slightly with the tool, slide the strap in, then release the tool and repeat from the other side. If the lugs are very tight, slightly warm the strap with a hair dryer first: the leather softens and enters more easily.
