Set of two spring bars for Rolex Explorer, in hardened Swiss Standard steel. The Explorer line includes Explorer I (1016, 14270, 114270, 214270, 124270) and Explorer II (1655, 16550, 16570, 216570, 226570). 20mm lugs on all 36 and 39mm models, 22mm on the 42mm 226570. Pin 1.5mm, 1.8mm or 2.0mm depending on the era.
The vintage 1016 and the Steve McQueen 1655 have drilled lugs and 2.0mm pins. The transitional 14270 moves to 1.8mm. The modern 114270 onwards are 1.5mm on closed lugs. The Explorer is a watch you live with — you change the strap often, and the spring bars too.

Returns and exchanges
You have 30 days from delivery to request a return or an exchange. The strap must come back as you received it: unworn, in its packaging. Write to info@milanostraps.it with your order number; once the return is accepted, I will send you the return shipping label. Made-to-measure straps cannot be returned: they are cut for your watch. Frequently asked questions
How do I know which pin size my Explorer needs?
It depends on the reference and the period. The 1016 and the 1655 Steve McQueen have drilled lugs and 2.0mm pins. The transitional 14270 is 1.8mm. From the 114270 onward, the lugs are undrilled and the pin is 1.5mm. Please write the exact reference in the order notes, and I will fit the correct piece.
Does the set work for both the Explorer I and the Explorer II?
Yes, it covers the whole line: Explorer I from the 1016 to the 124270, Explorer II from the 1655 to the 226570. The lugs are 20mm on all 36mm and 39mm models, 22mm on the 42mm 226570.
Where can I find the reference of my Rolex?
On the Explorer, the reference is engraved between the lugs at 12 o'clock. Please indicate it in the order notes, so I know right away which type of pin to fit.
Do drilled lugs change anything in the fitting?
Yes. On the 1016 and the 1655 Steve McQueen, the hole is there, and the 2.0mm pin goes through it. On more recent models, the lugs are undrilled and the 1.5mm pin is needed. That's why I need the exact reference.
What material are the spring bars made of?
Hardened Swiss Standard steel. It's the same piece I fit here at the workbench when changing the strap on the Explorer.
