Set of two spring bars for Rolex Explorer II reference 216570, in tempered Swiss Standard steel. Size: 21mm between lugs. Pin 2.0mm fat. Drilled-through lugs. The 216570 is the Explorer II produced from 2011 to 2021 — the first 42mm Explorer II, nicknamed Polar (white dial) or BLK (black), with the new Maxi case and orange GMT hand.
The 216570 is unusual in pin diameter: 2.0mm fat on drilled-through lugs. It is not a classic modern standard — on the 216570, Rolex uses a pin wider than the usual 1.5mm to better support the heavy Oyster bracelet of the 42mm case. When a client wishes to fit a leather strap, the 2.0mm spring bars are crucial: the 1.5mm rattles in the lug hole.

Why are these spring bars different from the standard ones?
The pin measures 2.0mm, not the usual 1.5mm. On the 216570, Rolex specified the wider pin to support the Oyster bracelet on the 42mm case. Fit a leather strap with standard 1.5mm spring bars and it will shift inside the lug.
Do these fit all Explorer II models?
These are designed for reference 216570, produced from 2011 to 2021, in both the Polar and BLK dial versions. It's the first Explorer II with the 42mm Maxi case.
What material are they made of?
Hardened Swiss Standard steel. We use the same supplier for every customer's 216570, so the fit stays consistent.
The lugs are closed, is that a problem?
No, these are designed specifically for closed lugs. 21mm lug width, fat 2.0mm pin: the tolerance is calculated for this case type.
Can i use them to fit a leather strap?
Yes, that's exactly what they're made for. The 2.0mm pin keeps the strap firmly seated in the lug, which doesn't happen with standard 1.5mm spring bars on this reference.
