Spring bars Daytona 6263/6265 steel — 19mm drilled
€12,95
Set of two spring bars for Rolex Daytona reference 6263 and 6265 in steel, in hardened Swiss Standard steel. Size: 19mm between the lugs. Pin 2.0mm. Drilled lugs. The steel version of the Big Red Daytona produced from 1971 to 1988 — less ostentatious than the gold model but also rarer, especially the final transitional series.
The steel 6263/6265 shares everything with the gold version except the case material: same 37mm case, same manual Valjoux 727 movement, same 19mm × 2.0mm drilled lugs. For strap fitting the geometry is identical. The difference on the market lies in the price: the steel references are more accessible than the gold ones, though by now they are six-figure pieces.
Same spring bars on every steel 6263/6265 of my clients.

Domande Frequenti
Are these spring bars compatible only with the 6263/6265 or do they work on other Daytonas?
They work on any Daytona with 19mm drilled lugs and 2.0mm pins: including the 6239, 6262, 6264, and modern 116520/116528 models. The lug geometry is identical across all these references. The only difference between steel and gold is the case material, not the lugs.
What is the risk of installing aftermarket spring bars on an original 6263/6265?
Using low-quality bars risks scratching the drilled lugs from the inside (they are very precise) or creating a loose fit that causes strap movement. Ours are Swiss Standard tempered steel and follow original Rolex tolerance: clean installation with no play.
How can I verify that the pin is truly 2.0mm and not an approximate measurement?
Measure your lug hole with a caliper: it must be 2.0mm ±0.05mm for correct fit. If you find 1.95mm or less, our pin could be borderline. We always send verified samples: if your Daytona is original, the pin is 2.0mm.
Why choose steel spring bars if gold is more ’complete’?
Because the steel 6263/6265 is a rare reference studied by true collectors: they once cost less, are less known, and faithful restoration requires components consistent with the era. Tempered steel resists better over time than gold, especially if the strap is changed frequently.
