Set of two spring bars for Rolex Daytona 126505, 126515, 126508, 126518 in yellow gold, in hardened Swiss Standard steel. Size: 20mm between the lugs. Pin 1.5mm. The 126500-series are the modern Daytona models launched in 2023 with the in-house calibre 4131 and revised case.

The new modern Daytona retains the classic 1.5mm pin, but the geometry of the lug hole is slightly different compared to the 116500. The lugs feature a more pronounced chamfer and the hole is more precise in its tolerances. The wrong spring bar here is immediately noticeable: the strap does not sit against the case as it should.

The same spring bars I fit on my clients’ 126500 models. Same supplier.

Domande Frequenti

Can I use standard 20mm spring bars I have at home, or do I have to use these?

Technically the diameter is the same, but the cavity geometry on the 126500 is narrower compared to previous Daytonas. A generic bar might fit, but the strap won’t adhere properly to the case and you’ll see obvious lateral play. Tolerances here are critical: the chamfering of the lugs is more pronounced and doesn’t forgive approximations.

Is the 1.5mm pin really compatible with all 126500s, or only with my 4131 movement?

The 1.5mm pin is standard across the entire 126500/126515 series (regardless of movement), but be careful: it is not compatible with the older 116500. If you’re upgrading from a previous model, always verify the pin diameter of your case before ordering.

They’re in yellow gold like my case, but how long do they last before becoming dull or breaking?

Swiss Standard tempered steel holds up well over time, the gold color of the plating doesn’t fade significantly if you don’t change the strap hundreds of times. The real risk is breakage from repeated stress: if you change the strap every week, you can expect visible wear after 3-4 years, but these are components designed to last the life of the watch with normal use.

How can I tell if I’ve installed them correctly? Are there signs that tell me if I got it wrong?

If installed correctly, the strap adheres perfectly to the lugs with no lateral play and the bar doesn’t protrude from the case when the strap is closed. If you see gaps between the bar and the cavity, or if the strap ‘moves around’, it’s wrong. Try pushing the strap horizontally: it should not move.
