First, it's felt under the fingers. Then, it's seen. The hammered surface of the calfskin creates an uneven and controlled relief — not uniform, not random. It's the result of manual processing that doesn't allow for shortcuts: each indentation is exactly where it needs to be.
The grey, here, is not a neutral choice. It's a statement of method. It works with the white dial of a Datejust, with the matte black of a Seamaster, with the titanium of a Casioak. It doesn't impose itself — it complements. The ecru stitching doesn't contrast the grey background: it signs it. A warm touch that prevents the hue from closing in on itself.
Like all Italian full-grain leather, this strap carries with it a natural variability in shades. Two pieces of the same color will never be identical — and they shouldn't be.

A texture that hides daily life.
The hammered finish breaks the surface into countless facets: micro-scratches disappear into the pattern instead of showing. Tough leather, for those who live with their strap without a second thought.

Frequently Asked Questions
I have a Datejust 36 and a Seamaster 42: what lug width should I get?
It depends on your lugs. The strap is available in 18×16, 19×16, 20×16, 22×20, and 24×20mm. Measure the width between your watch’s lugs first — not the case. If you’re unsure how, send us a photo from your wrist and we’ll figure it out together. The 24×20 you see here works on 24mm lugs.
This hammering here — does it hold up? Won’t it scratch my wrist after a week?
The hammering is in the leather, not a finish that wears off. It’s a manual working of Italian full-grain calf — it’s structural. The irregular relief you feel is precisely what protects it from uniform wear. After weeks and months, the gray may develop natural patina, but the texture won’t disappear.
But does the gray mottle? In other words, doesn’t it get stained with sweat and sun?
The variation in shades is already there when you receive it — two straps in the same color are never identical, it’s Italian full-grain leather. Over time it will develop natural patina, including reaction to your oils and wrist. If you’re looking for something perfectly uniform, this leather isn’t for you. If you love your strap telling the story of where you’ve been, then yes.
Is the 2.5mm thickness too thin for my thick wrist, or does it still hold up?
2.5mm is a sensible thickness — it won’t sink on large wrists because hammered leather has body, and full-grain calf isn’t tissue paper. How it breathes on your wrist is something you need to feel. If your other straps are significantly thicker, contact us before ordering.
Do the ecru stitches fade over time or stay like this?
They’re stitches, not paint. Ecru thread behaves like the leather: it develops patina over time. It won’t fade or darken uniformly — it simply ages with the strap. That’s the point of gray with ecru: it’s not a snapshot frozen once, it’s a relationship that evolves.
