Recycled polyester
Nylon is not always the obvious choice. It becomes so when it's made from 100% recycled polyester, processed in Italy with the same care reserved for leather. This military strap is born from a material that has already lived a life — and begins another on your wrist.
The dark brown base absorbs light without seeking attention. The orange stitching, however, finds it: a precise, non-random color detail that works equally well on a vintage field watch or a contemporary sports watch. The military profile — uniform width, solid loops, 316L steel buckle — does the rest.
A slender 1.5mm thickness for those who want a strap that doesn't add bulk but withstands daily use without compromise. The 316L stainless steel buckle and loops resist corrosion: a technical detail that becomes essential on a strap for everyday use.

WHAT WE DID
Milano Straps, always sensitive to the issue of sustainability and the ways in which a luxury product should be produced and distributed, has decided, in its small way, to contribute to the growth of an Eco-Luxury Positive economy.
Recently launched, the MSLabStraps line is a new series of eco-friendly NATO fabric straps made by recycling post-consumer plastic bottles collected in Northern Italy.
From one recycled plastic bottle, two MSLabStraps NATO straps are made.
Through a mechanical, non-chemical recycling process that is 100% Made in Italy certified throughout its fully traceable supply chain, the plastic from the bottles is shredded and transformed into high-quality, high-performance recycled polyester yarns for textile use.
The production of 1 kg of Newlife®, for the same quantity of virgin polymer, allows a reduction in energy consumption of 60%, CO2 emissions of 32%, and water consumption of 94%.
Domande Frequenti
Does recycled nylon really hold up to daily use, or is it one of those materials that starts to give way after a few months?
That’s the right question. This isn’t generic nylon — it’s 100% recycled polyester worked in Italy with the same standards we apply to leathers. The 1.5mm thickness and the solid keepers are dimensioned precisely for daily use without compromise. The buckle and rings in 316L don’t yield to corrosion, which on a wrist strap is the real killer. If you treat it as an object and not as disposable, it holds.
The orange stitching on dark brown — is it a detail that ends up looking dirty over time, or does it stay clean?
The stitching is orange, it’s not an overlay: it’s part of the construction. Dark brown absorbs light, so it doesn’t visually soil the way a light colour would. The stitching, instead, plays with the light — it’s a precise detail, not casual, that remains legible without looking dirty. It depends on how you use it: on the wrist it’s exposed less than on other points of the strap, so it holds up well.
Which watch pairs well with it? I have a vintage military Seiko and a Submariner — is one of the two wrong?
There is no wrong here. The profile is military — uniform width, solid keepers — it works on both. On a vintage field watch the recycled nylon sounds contemporary but not out of place. On a modern sport watch like your Submariner, the orange stitching still finds its reason: it’s the canvas that changes the look, not a strap that doesn’t know where it belongs. Try whichever attracts you most on the wrist.
20mm lug width — how do I know if it’s the right one for my watch?
The lug width is the distance between the watch’s spring bar pins. It’s measured in millimetres, from shoulder to shoulder of that area. If your watch takes 20mm straps, this fits. If it’s 22mm or 18mm, it doesn’t — we don’t make adaptations. Check your watch specifications or measure directly with a calliper if you’re not sure.
How long is it overall? Is it enough for a large wrist, or is it a standard size?
The total length is 27cm. It’s not an elastic or adjustable length like leather — it is what it is. If you have a large wrist, verify directly: 27cm must contain both the wrist circumference and a bit of play for the buckle. If you know your straps always end up on the last holes, this might be short. Contact us if you have doubts about your specific measurements.
