Recycled polyester
Twenty-seven centimeters of 100% recycled polyester. It's not a compromise: it's a precise choice, made in an Italian laboratory that knows the difference between a built strap and an assembled one.
Military style isn't born to please — it's born to resist. This strap carries that same logic: flat structure, fixed loops, 316L stainless steel buckle that won't rust or give way. The brown color with ecru edges introduces a sober visual tension, recognizable without being flashy. It works on a vintage field watch as well as on a contemporary automatic.
The material is derived from certified recycled yarns, processed with the same attention reserved for quality technical fabrics. The contained thickness — 1.5mm — makes it one of the most versatile straps for those who wear their watch all day long, without feeling it.
Technical specifications:

WHAT WE DID
Milano Straps, always sensitive to the issue of sustainability and the ways in which a luxury product should be produced and distributed, has decided, in its small way, to contribute to the growth of an Eco-Luxury Positive economy.
Recently launched, the MSLabStraps line is a new series of eco-friendly NATO fabric straps made by recycling post-consumer plastic bottles collected in Northern Italy.
From one recycled plastic bottle, two MSLabStraps NATO straps are made.
Through a mechanical, non-chemical recycling process that is 100% Made in Italy certified throughout its fully traceable supply chain, the plastic from the bottles is shredded and transformed into high-quality, high-performance recycled polyester yarns for textile use.
The production of 1 kg of Newlife®, for the same quantity of virgin polymer, allows a reduction in energy consumption of 60%, CO2 emissions of 32%, and water consumption of 94%.
Domande Frequenti
Does recycled nylon really hold up over time like a new fabric? Isn’t it one of those materials that degrades after a couple of years?
No, quite the opposite. The recycled polyester used here is certified and processed to the same standards as quality technical fabrics — it’s not reconstituted waste. The structure is flat and robust, the keepers are fixed in 316L steel that doesn’t give way, and the buckle doesn’t rust. It’s built, not assembled. You can wear it every day without a guilty conscience or a guilty wrist.
The 1.5mm thickness seems thin to me. Isn’t that a bit slight for a military strap?
It’s deliberately restrained. Military style has never prioritised thickness — the logic is functional: a flat structure, no bulk, worn under a sleeve or on top all day without feeling it. If you’re looking for a strap that announces itself, this isn’t it. If you’re looking for one that doesn’t intrude and lasts, then thin is a choice.
Is the buckle really 316L steel? Why this choice over a vintage military one?
Yes, 316L stainless steel — the same alloy that doesn’t rust in saline or humid environments. It’s a precise choice: if the strap is built to endure, the buckle can’t be the weak point. It isn’t vintage in appearance because the strap itself isn’t vintage — it’s contemporary military style built by an Italian atelier.
Will the colour always arrive exactly as shown? Online photos often don’t match what you actually receive.
The tones may show slight variations compared to the images. This depends on the nature of the recycled material and the artisanal process — it isn’t standardised industrial production. If colour is critical for you, get in touch first: we know how to describe what actually arrives.
I’m loyal to my Horween and Shinki straps, and a nylon strap has never crossed my mind. Why should I reconsider?
You don’t have to. Simply put: a Horween on a vintage Daytona makes sense, on a daily three-watch rotation it doesn’t. This strap is the alternative when stepping away from leather is practical, not a concession. It’s recycled, weighs nothing, the buckle holds, and the écru edges on brown keep their colour without being showy. It isn’t a compromise — it’s another path.
