Each leather has a unique, unrepeatable quill pattern that tells the story of the animal and the tanning process. The pink is not a decorative color: on this leather, it becomes living matter, iridescent depending on the light.

But if every piece is different, how do I know mine isn’t the rejected one?
Good question. There’s no such thing as a "rejected" piece in struzzo — there’s only struzzo. The variability of the quills isn’t a flaw to hide, it’s the signature of the leather. What you receive has been selected and hand-finished in the stitching and edges: if it reaches you, it’s because it passed inspection. Its unique distribution is what makes it yours, not what makes it second-tier.
Does struzzo scratch? I mean, I wear the Apple Watch every day, I can’t treat it like a painting.
struzzo is among the most resistant leathers in leatherworking — precisely because of the follicle structure. It’s not glass. Yes, it marks — living leather marks. But the interesting thing about struzzo is that it softens and improves with use, it doesn’t deteriorate. The marks become part of the strap’s story, they don’t ruin it. If you wear it like you wear a watch, struzzo returns it to you better.
Is the pink permanent or does it fade? Especially if I get it for summer and the sun.
The pink on this leather isn’t a color laid on the surface — it’s living matter, iridescent. Compatible with which Watch? I have an old 42mm, not the 40 or 44.
This strap is compatible with all Apple Watch series with 40mm and 44mm cases. If yours is 42mm, you need to verify your specific generation — older series don’t fall within the declared compatibility. The lug width is 20mm-22mm: if your Watch has different measurements, this isn’t the right strap.
How long before it really softens? I mean, is it comfortable right away or do I have to wait?
It’s not a matter of "magic weeks." struzzo softens and breathes with use — you’ll notice it within weeks if you wear it daily. The strap is already well-finished in the stitching and edges when it reaches you, but true softening, the kind that makes it completely personal to your wrist, comes from your routine.
