Doesn’t black alligator turn grey after a while? How does this leather really age?
Matte alligator is not treated to shine, so it doesn’t lose lustre over time — it simply continues to be what it is. Matte black absorbs light rather than reflecting it; it is a finish choice, not a fragility. Like all natural leathers, it develops a patina with wear, but the character of the leather remains. The variations you will see grow with time, they are not a fading of colour.
Does this minimal stitching really hold, or is it just an aesthetic excuse to cut corners?
Minimal stitching does not mean less strength — it means that the visible stitches are only the necessary ones, not decorative. The structure of the strap holds. It is a conscious design choice: on an Apple Watch the display dominates the space, and a strap that speaks less visually works better. If I buy the 20mm, do I really need the adapter, or can I use it directly on any Watch?
