Alligator leather doesn't just age—it transforms. And millennium green, over time, acquires a depth that no dye can replicate: it's the patina that builds the identity of a well-worn strap.

Made from genuine alligator leather, this Apple Watch strap is crafted in Italy through a process that respects the natural structure of the hide: each scale is positioned, not impressed. The result is a surface that varies slightly from piece to piece—because each hide has its own story, even before it's worn.

Millennium green is not a neutral color. It has character: it pairs soberly with light dials, dialogues with earthy tones, and elegantly breaks up black. It doesn't aim to please everyone—and that's exactly the point.

The dimensions take into account Apple Watch specifications: the lug width and the taper towards the buckle follow the watch's geometry, not that of a traditional strap. The slim thickness ensures comfort even under the wrist, without sacrificing structure.

Technical specifications:

  • Material: authentic alligator leather, millennium green
  • Lug width: 20mm × 16mm or 22mm × 18mm
  • Length: 115mm (long strap) × 75mm (short strap)
  • Thickness: 3.5mm at lugs, tapering to 2.5mm
  • Made in Italy
  • Each piece has slight chromatic variations due to the naturalness of the hide

Domande Frequenti

I like the colour, but does it really change over time or is it just marketing? How quickly?

It is not marketing. Alligator is a leather that transforms through oxidation and daily wear — millennium green develops depth and natural patina over time, exactly like shell cordovan or vegetable-tanned leather. The pace depends on how often you wear it and how much you expose it to light: it cannot be predicted by a formula, it varies from wrist to wrist. What you can expect is that between six months and a year you will see noticeable differences.

You say the scales are ‘positioned, not impressed’. What does that mean in practice? What difference will I notice?

It means that each scale is worked respecting the natural structure of the hide, not artificially stamped. You will feel the real texture of the leather beneath your fingers — it is not flat. This creates variability from piece to piece because every alligator has a different scale geometry. In practice: your strap will have details you will not find identical on another.

What do I actually pair this millennium green with? You speak of ‘restraint’ but I am confused.

It is a dark green with character, not a neutral. It works well with light dials (white, champagne) because it creates a clean contrast. It dialogues with earthy tones (brown, tan, grey-beige) because the green does not clash. It breaks up black with elegance, meaning that if you pair it with a black watch face the strap does not disappear but adds a note. It is not beige, it is not black — it asks for some conscious choice in the dial.

The dimensions 20mm × 16mm or 22mm × 18mm — how do I choose? Does it depend on the Watch model I have?

Yes, it depends on your Apple Watch model. The lug widths (the parts that attach to the watch) are offered in two different sizes because Apple Watch models have different widths. You must choose based on the specifications of your watch, not at random. If you are not sure which one you need, verify your model before ordering.

3.5mm at the lugs, 2.5mm at the buckle — in practice, how much does it weigh and how does it sit on the wrist compared to other leather straps?

The restrained thickness (tapered, not constant) is designed to sit comfortably beneath the wrist without creating a ‘cushion’ between the skin and the watch. Alligator is a structured leather, so at equal thickness it is more substantial than a calf — you will feel the density. The fact that it tapers towards the buckle means you will not have a ‘volume’ shifting while you write or gesture. It is sartorial, not ‘athletic’.
