Strap for Pelagos FXD Marine Nationale 2024

The lug width of the Tudor Pelagos 25707B/24-0001 is 22 millimetres. This width accommodates straps in NATO fabric, Zulu weave, leather, rubber, and mesh without adaptors. To verify compatibility, measure the distance between the case lugs: they must be exactly 22 millimetres apart.

Selection depends on intended use. For diving: vulcanised rubber with titanium deployante. For formal wear: alligator or shell cordovan with vegetable tanning. For daily versatility: premium regenerated NATO fabric or regenerated calf leather. All pairings respect the Pelagos' tool watch vocation.

Remove the strap by inserting a spring bar tool into the internal groove of each lug pin and gently lifting until the pin disengages, then withdraw the old strap. Align the new strap's holes with the case lugs and press the pin until it clicks into locking position. Verify secure engagement on both sides before wearing.

A quality leather strap with vegetable tanning maintains durability of 4–6 years with daily use in non-humid environments. In marine or frequently submerged conditions, longevity reduces to 2–3 years due to salt degradation and mildew. Shell cordovan, more resistant, reaches 7–8 years. For regular diving, vulcanised rubber is recommended as it does not degrade in saltwater.

The satinised titanium of the Pelagos does not oxidise like steel and does not leach sulphates that stain leather. However, case anodising and mechanical contact with strap asperities may cause microscratches. To protect leather, apply a thin transparent film to the inner case surface in contact with the strap, or select materials such as rubber or NATO fabric that do not absorb dyes.
