This leather is tanned with traditional methods that work against color stability, not in favor of it. Where modern leathers are treated to remain identical for as long as possible, vintage calfskin is designed to absorb: the skin's natural oils, light, heat, daily movement. Flex areas develop depth. Edges darken. Areas under the buckle acquire a sheen that no polish can replicate.
