Frequently asked questions
Can I fit a strap on this TAG Heuer Carrera?
No, the bracelet is integrated into the case. There is no standard lug where you can attach a regular strap—the geometry is proprietary. If you want to change it, bespoke is the only option, built directly on your watch at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>.
How does bespoke strap work for the Carrera CBN2A1AA?
I work by appointment only at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, Via XX Settembre 15, Milan. I bring your watch to the bench, measure the lugs directly on the case, and build the strap to millimetre precision. No guesswork.
Which leather would you recommend for a sports Carrera like this?
I prefer solid Tuscan leather with vegetable tanning—robust and able to age elegantly alongside black ceramic and brushed steel. Barenia works well: it develops patina over time without losing character. It's leather that breathes with a technical watch.
How long does a well-made strap last?
A good handcrafted strap will last 5–7 years of daily wear, often longer. It depends on care and climate: simple cleaning now and then, keep it away from humidity. The leather ages, it patinas, but if it works for years it's because it was made properly. Not disposable.
Why does this Carrera have an integrated bracelet in the case?
It's a deliberate technical choice. TAG Heuer engineered the case as a monoblock for structural rigidity and superior water resistance. It means quick-change or frequent swaps aren't an option—but structurally you gain solidity. That's the trade-off of a serious chronograph.
