To verify it, position a digital calliper perpendicular to the lateral lugs: it must measure exactly 20mm. Any aftermarket strap must respect this measurement to fit correctly without excessive play.

The ideal strap depends on usage context: for formal elegance, we recommend dark brown alligator or shell cordovan, which enhance the chronograph's technical nature without stylistic excess. For daily versatility, vegetable-tanned leather in chestnut or black ensures durability and natural patina development over time. Strap replacement requires two tools: a spring bar tool and a stable, well-lit work surface. Position the watch with the lug facing you, insert the flat tip of the spring bar tool into the small side hole of the retaining spring and gently press inward: the spring will retract, allowing you to extract the pin. Repeat on the opposite side. To install the new strap, align the internal hole with the spring, partially insert the pin and use the spring bar tool to compress the spring, completing insertion. Verify that both sides are securely fastened before wearing the watch.

Any strap designed for 20mm lug width is mechanically compatible. However, for aesthetic and constructive coherence, it is essential to choose specialised strap makers that respect: material thickness between 2.5–3.5mm, exact 20mm internal lug spacing, use of quality spring bars. Avoid generic aftermarket straps from mass distributors: manufacturing tolerances are often insufficient, generating excessive play or risk of accidental strap loss. Textile NATO lasts 3–5 years. To extend strap life, apply specific conditioner every six months, avoid prolonged exposure to excessive humidity and alternate with other straps when possible. Hand-sewn artisanal straps can be restored via re-stitching if the leather remains intact.
