The Panerai Luminor PAM00778 (PAM 778) features a 24mm lug width. To measure the lug width correctly, position a digital caliper perpendicular to the lugs at the narrowest point, excluding rounded edges. This precise measurement ensures a perfect fit when purchasing an aftermarket strap.

For the PAM 778, we recommend dark brown or cognac alligator for elegant contrast with the black dial, black or anthracite calf leather for tactical consistency, or matte black FKM rubber for extreme use. Your choice depends on context: formal settings with premium leather, daily wear with durable rubber or NATO.

To change the strap, remove the lugs (case attachments) using a dedicated tool or a very thin screwdriver. Once the lugs are positioned, the strap comes out easily. Insert the new 24mm strap into the slots and reinstall the lugs with firm movements until they are fully seated. If you lack experience, entrust this to a professional watchmaker.

Any strap with a 24mm lug width is technically compatible with the Panerai Luminor PAM00778. For construction quality and longevity, we recommend straps in alligator, Tuscan or Swiss calf leather, or FKM rubber. Avoid inexpensive synthetic leather straps—they age poorly and detach easily.
