The Oris Divers 65 features a 20mm lug width. This measurement represents Oris' choice to balance the 40mm case diameter with appropriate wrist proportions. To verify accurately, measure the internal distance between the lower pins of both lugs using a digital calliper.

The optimal strap depends on intended use. For diving: vulcanised rubber with quilted texture and stainless steel deployante. For daily elegance: vegetable-tanned alligator with pronounced grain. For military versatility: Milspec nylon NATO. For simplicity: chrome-tanned calfskin with hand-stitched lug slots.

Use a spring bar tool to gently compress the lug springs. Remove the bars one at a time, beginning with the non-dominant side. Insert replacement bars, aligning them precisely with the lug holes. Ensure the springs click into position. Never force: correct installation requires gentle, controlled pressure.

Any strap featuring a standard 20mm lug width is compatible. We recommend artisanal leather in alligator, calfskin, or cordovan; certified Milspec NATO straps; professional vulcanised rubber. Avoid synthetic leather, which develops no patina and degrades rapidly in diving environments.

High-quality artisanal alligator leather, with regular maintenance (cleaning and conditioning every six months), lasts 3–5 years with daily wear. In frequent saltwater diving, patina develops more rapidly but lifespan reduces to 2–3 years. Vulcanised rubber lasts 4–7 years. Milspec NATO straps remain durable indefinitely if regularly dried.
