Handmade in Italy Selected leathers

Roano has a surface that doesn't try to be anything else. Visible grain, full hand, immediate character — it's Italian leather that carries the mark of its tanning, not hiding it.

The brown of this strap is not uniform by definition: each Roano leather absorbs color slightly differently, and each piece has its own color rendition. Not a defect — a signature. Those who choose it know this.

The craftsmanship is Italian, and the finishes are customizable: buckle, thread color, stitch type. The result is a strap that adapts to the watch and its wearer, without imposing a single interpretation.

Brown Roan Leather Strap

It softens to your wrist.

It starts firm and, week after week, takes the shape of your wrist. The surface grows warmer to the touch, the colour gains depth where the light hits it. No plastic on top: leather that ages honestly.

Frequently Asked Questions

What distinguishes Roano leather from a smooth calf like box-calf?

Roano features a more pronounced grain and a surface that remains visibly alive even after finishing. box-calf, by contrast, tends toward compactness and controlled sheen. These are opposing characteristics: Roano bears the mark of the leather, box-calf disciplines it. The choice depends on the watch and how prominent you want the strap to be.

Are color variations between one example and another significant?

They can be. Roano leather absorbs pigment unevenly by nature, and brown accentuates these differences more than a neutral color. This is not a production irregularity — it is an intrinsic characteristic of the material. Those preferring uniform and predictable color rendering should look toward painted leather or more regular full-grain leather.

Can I request contrast stitching or must I choose a tone-on-tone?

Both options are available. On brown Roano, cream or ivory thread stitching works very well — it creates a classic contrast without being excessive. Tone-on-tone, with dark brown thread, delivers a more essential result. Indicate your preference when placing your order.

Is 2.9mm thickness compatible with thin or sport cases?

2.9mm is an intermediate measurement: structured enough to support cases of medium depth, contained enough not to create bulging under the cuff. It works well with dressy watches and classic sports watches. For particularly thin cases — under 7mm — it may be worth considering a tapered version on the buckle side.
