The ideal strap depends on usage. To maximise vintage-contemporary aesthetics, choose an alligator in tobacco colour vegetable-tanned leather, which amplifies the natural patina of the brushed steel. No specialised tools beyond the spring bar tool are required.

Any strap with 19mm lug width is compatible. This standard is widely available in the artisanal market: full grain leather, shell cordovan, alligator, calf, NATO fabrics, vulcanised rubber straps. Longevity depends on leather type, tanning method, and intensity of use. An alligator or calf in vegetable tanning, worn daily (5–7 days per week), maintains aesthetic integrity for 3–4 years. The patina that develops (progressive darkening, intentional creasing) is a sign of natural ageing, not defect. With industrial tanning (chromic), durability tends toward 2–3 years before notable degradation. If you wear the watch 2–3 days per week, you can extend performance by 50–70%.
