The lug width of the Oris Artix GT is 22mm. This dimension is measured between the inner edges of the suspension pins (lugs) that connect the case to the strap and is standard for 44mm chronographs.

We recommend a vegetable-tanned calf leather in cognac or deep brown tones, which emphasises the sportive-elegant character of the watch. Alternatively, grey pearl alligator for a more contemporary aesthetic, or a NATO in ballistic nylon for those who prioritise durability and everyday practicality.

Strap replacement is straightforward: place the watch on a soft support, use a strap removal tool to extract the metal pins that pass through the case lugs. Once the ends are freed, gently pull the old strap away and withdraw the pins outward. Insert the new strap by threading the pins through the lugs, ensuring perfect alignment. The operation takes less than 5 minutes with the correct tools.

Any strap with a 22mm lug width is compatible with the Oris Artix GT. You may choose from full-grain leather, shell cordovan, alligator, vegetable-tanned calf, canvas NATO, ballistic nylon, technical rubber, or specialised elastomers. Durability depends on the leather type and frequency of wear. Vegetable-tanned calf typically lasts 3–5 years of daily use. Shell cordovan, being denser, can last 5–7 years or longer. NATO and rubber offer superior durability (7+ years) but do not develop the aesthetic patina of vegetable leather. Proper maintenance—drying the strap after moisture exposure and applying a natural conditioner every 6–12 months—significantly extends the lifespan of your strap.
