Extract the spring bars from the lugs using a small Y-shaped tool or dedicated spring bar removal tool. Place the watch on a soft surface to prevent scratches. Press downward on the inner spring bar until the spring releases, then remove the old strap. Insert the spring bars into the new 22mm strap (ensure the spring bar slots align properly), then re-seat the spring bars into the watch lugs by pressing until you feel the spring catch. Verify the strap is securely fastened before wearing.

FKM rubber achieves superior longevity (15–20 years) but does not patina like leather. Factors that reduce lifespan: prolonged saltwater exposure without drying, undried perspiration, repeated flexing in the same location. To extend strap life, rotate multiple straps and dry leather after any moisture contact.
