We recommend vegetable-tanned alligator or Chromexcel calf leather for the Terranaut, as they maintain the austere instrumental elegance of the timepiece. For extended use, Cordura nylon NATO straps offer practicality and durability. FKM rubber is ideal for humid environments or extreme conditions.

Remove the old strap using a spring bar tool to gently lever out the pins. Insert the new strap by aligning its holes with the case pins, then press firmly until fully seated. Verify that the new strap's passants symmetrically embrace the case flanks.

Any strap with 20mm lug width is compatible with the Terranaut. You may choose from alligator, calf, crocodile, suede, NATO, canvas, and rubber options, provided the strap width precisely matches the required 20 millimetres.

A well-made alligator or Chromexcel calf strap typically lasts 4-7 years with daily wear, accounting for perspiration and humidity exposure. Longevity depends on tanning quality, frequency of use, and maintenance applied. Regular cleaning with a damp cloth and protection with natural wax significantly extend the strap's lifespan.
