Set of two spring bars for modern Rolex 22mm × 1.5mm, in hardened Swiss Standard steel. Blind lugs. Sized for new-generation Rolex 42mm cases: Sky-Dweller 326933, Explorer II 226570, Yacht-Master 42 226658 in certain configurations.
The 22mm × 1.5mm is less standard in the Rolex world compared to the 20mm or 21mm. It appears on 42mm cases where the geometry of the lug hole remains the same as the 20mm/21mm but the length of the spring bar body changes. It is the diameter that works when the lug hole is blind and the depth is the modern one.
When I work on a Sky-Dweller or Explorer II 226570 in the atelier, these are the right spring bars. Same piece, same supplier.

How do I know if my 42mm Rolex truly uses 22×1.5mm and not 20mm or 21mm?
The safest method is to measure directly: remove a spring bar from the case (side not visible, under the bracelet) and measure its total length with a digital caliper. If it reads 22mm, you are correct. Alternatively, if the case is solid (no through-holes at the ends) and modern, it is likely 22mm, but do not assume—some Explorer II and Sky-Dweller models still use 20mm.
Can I use these spring bars on watches other than Rolex, or are they truly Rolex-specific?
The 1.5mm diameter is nearly exclusive to modern Rolex, but the lug cavity geometry varies across brands. These bars work on Rolex models with certified 22mm solid cavities, but not on TAG Heuer, Omega, or others with different cavity designs. If unsure, verify your case geometry first—it is not merely a matter of numbers.
What is the risk of installing these spring bars myself? Can I damage anything?
The primary risk is scratching the case around the lug cavity if you use the wrong tool or apply pressure incorrectly. The spring bar itself is robust and hardened, but Rolex steel cases scratch easily. Use a spring bar tool with a rounded tip, apply gentle pressure, and if the bar enters with excessive force, stop—it may not be the correct size.
How long do they last? When should I replace them?
Swiss Standard hardened steel lasts for years, often longer than the bracelet itself. Replace them when corrosion occurs (rare if not regularly submerged), visible bending develops, or during bracelet maintenance. Replacement is not urgent—they are not consumables like case back gaskets.
