Spring bars GMT 16718 gold — 20mm drilled lugs
€14,95
Set of two spring bars for Rolex GMT-Master II reference 16718 in yellow gold, drilled lugs version, in hardened Swiss Standard steel. Size: 20mm between the lugs. Pin 1.8mm. Drilled lugs. The 16718 is the gold GMT-Master II produced from 1989 to 2007 — drilled lugs version for the 1989-2003 productions.
The drilled gold 16718 is the first-phase gold GMT-Master II. Same technical specifications as the steel 16710 of the same period, but case entirely in 18kt yellow gold. Drilled lugs and 1.8mm pin — the specification of the transition through the Nineties. Gold Jubilee bracelet or strap. When a drilled 16718 arrives at the atelier, these are the replacement spring bars.
Same spring bars on every drilled-lug 16718.

Domande Frequenti
Are these spring bars only compatible with the 16718 gold model or can I use them on other GMT models?
They are specific to the 16718 drilled case with 1.8mm pins. The steel 16710 uses the same diameter, so technically compatible, but the 16718 has dedicated drilled lugs — if your GMT has solid lugs (post-2003) these won’t fit. Verify lug type before ordering.
Is the 1.8mm pin diameter really correct or do I risk excessive play between the lugs?
It is the correct specification for 1989-2003 production. If the pin is too wide or too narrow, the bracelet will rattle or resist insertion — the 1.8mm has Swiss Standard tolerances, ensuring precise fit on original drilled lugs from that period.
Can I install them with any 20mm bracelet or are there constraints?
The main constraint is the drilled lug: you must use bracelets with drilled end links (such as gold Jubilee, beads of rice, or compatible aftermarket types). If you use a bracelet with solid lugs you cannot physically install it — the bars go inside the lug hole.
How often should I check that the pins don’t loosen over time?
Check every 6-12 months with normal wrist movement — if the bracelet starts to rattle at the lugs, the pin may have shifted. With Swiss Standard tempered steel it is rare, but pins can wear if the original lug is already compromised.
