Set of Omega spring bars in hardened Swiss Standard steel, from 18mm to 23mm. Pin diameter: 1.8mm — the Omega standard for nearly all modern production. Covers Speedmaster, Seamaster, Constellation, De Ville and most contemporary Omega lugs.
Omega uses the 1.8mm pin. It is thicker than the 1.5mm Rolex pin and holds better on the narrow lugs typical of chronographs. If you fit an aftermarket strap on a Speedmaster with generic 1.5mm spring bars, sooner or later you will feel the play. I see them arrive in the atelier every month.
The set is useful when changing straps across several watches. Having the right size already in the drawer saves you from dismounting twice.

Can I use these spring bars on a Seamaster 300M with straight lugs?
Yes, but you must verify your lug width. This set ranges from 18 to 23mm effective length. If your Seamaster has 20mm lugs (the most common), select the 20mm size from the set. The 1.8mm pin is the Omega standard, so it fits perfectly.
What’s the difference between these 1.8mm and generic 1.5mm bars found online?
The 1.8mm Omega is more robust and holds better on tight lugs, especially on chronographs. With generic 1.5mm on a Speedmaster, you accumulate play within months. It’s not just thickness — it’s different tempering and Swiss tolerances, not Chinese.
How do I know which size I need if I own multiple watches?
Measure lug to lug on your watch, then subtract the lug diameter (typically 1.5mm per side). If in doubt, a photo of the lugs helps. The 18-23mm set covers practically all Seamaster, De Ville, and Constellation models.
If I change straps monthly, are four pieces enough or risk damaging them?
Four pieces of Swiss-tempered 1.8mm withstand one hundred fifty to two hundred insertions without issue if mounted with the proper tool. Damage comes from improvised tools or rushing, not from how many times you use them.
