Set of two Omega 21mm spring bars in hardened Swiss Standard steel. Pin diameter: 1.8mm. Sized for contemporary Omega watches with lugs slightly wider than the standard 20mm: Seamaster Diver 300m 42mm, Seamaster Planet Ocean 42mm, certain Constellation Globemaster variants.
The 21mm Omega is a transitional geometry between the classic 20mm and the 22mm of heavy sports models. It appears on 42mm models where Omega sought a slightly more pronounced presence on the wrist. Pin 1.8mm — the Omega standard remains unchanged even on this intermediate size. It is the exact specification for the Seamaster 42mm: aftermarket 20mm bars will not fit correctly here.

Yes, they were specifically designed for contemporary Seamaster Diver 300m and Planet Ocean 42mm models. If you own a Seamaster from the 1990s-2000s, it is most likely standard 20mm — measure the lugs or verify the documentation. The 21mm will not fit forcefully into 20mm lugs.
What is the practical difference between the classic 20mm and this 21mm? Is it worth changing?
It is a transitional geometry: the 21mm occupies slightly more space in the lugs, providing a more natural proportion on 42mm cases. If your 20mm strap moves laterally or feels undersized on your wrist, the 21mm eliminates that play. It is not a revolutionary change, but it does alter the aesthetic perception.
Is the pin 1.8mm like other Omega models? Do I risk compatibility issues with other straps?
Yes, standard 1.8mm Omega pin — it remains unchanged even on the 21mm. You can use these spring bars with any Omega strap that accepts 1.8mm pins. However, note that the 21mm does not fit into 20mm lugs, so the constraint is the lug width, not the pin diameter.
How can I tell if my lugs are actually 21mm or just slightly different from 20mm?
Measure the internal distance between the two lugs with a digital caliper — it must be exactly 21mm. If it is between 20 and 20.5mm, stick with the standard 20mm. If it is a clean 21mm, these are the ones for you. When in doubt, take a photo of the measurement before purchasing — I can confirm if it matches.
